It took us a while to learn to pronounce Garmisch-Partenkirchen, and even longer to spell it.
But it only took us a minute to fall in love with this old-school Alpine town, with Germany’s highest mountain above it and the country’s most beautiful lake just up the road.
We’ve returned a handful of times since. We just mostly call it GaPa now, like everyone else.
